Monday 5th of november was our last visit to Abdelkarim in prison, my last sentence to him was “we will no more bring food baskets nor come to visits, you are to leave prison” expressing his coming out from his side to ours that is going beyond the separation obstacle just like “let’s go home”! Thanks God Abdelkarim returned back to us after 2 days.
Before, in prison we used to hear the guard calling us for the visit saying :”Karim Harouni”
From Wednesday 7th, we call Abdelkarim and he recalls us directly day and night at home and you can not imagine the good taste of such calls!
It is really highly difficult for me to express my feelings when the telephone rang up that evening before 8.00 p.m. when I answered back and to my great surprise it actually was my brother’s voice, yes that was true ! and his cheerful expressions overwhelmed me with great happiness. He was freed and returned back after a too lengthened trip of “sophisticated imprisonment” to his initial right place; outside prison after all the painful burdens lived during years.
I shouted for our father and family members : “Karim is talking to me he was released” and all of emotions and tears I found my self crying loudly on the telephone just upon the first word I heard from my dear brother, I thanked God saying”:
اللّهمّ لك الحمد كما ينبغي لجلال وجهك و عظيم سلطانك"”
And then arrived the meeting moment , when we hurried up for welcoming Abdelkarim and bringing him back home; embracing each other with great emotions. It was a very effective memorable turning point in our life that is mine that of my father Amor and my brothers Maher, Elyess and sister Karima and obviously that of Abdelkarim himself. On the other hand, our missing of our dear deceased mother Saîda in such a moment marked its great impact and we keep as usual praying God to grant her one of the highest places in paradise.
Just upon our returning back home, congratulations flew from everywhere; visits, national and international phone calls and still

Hend Harouni, sister of Abdelkarim Harouni, the freed ex-political-opinion prisoner, former Secretary General of the Tunisian General Union of Students named U.G.T.E., graduated as High Engineer in civil engineering, journalist ,Leader at the Enahdha Movement; sentenced for life imprisonment by the military court on august 1992 .

On wednesday 07th of November 2007 evening, my dear brother Abdelkarim Harouni was finally released = left prison after 16 years and 8 day;, under conditional release
